Today is a good day. One more...

This is a rough cut of a tune I've been working on for the last week or so. The guitar riff started out as an exercise that I played over the Bm. Jen heard it and loved it, said it was stirring up something old inside of her. She came back today with a bunch of pictures that she had taken on a walk. Flowers in bloom. (See her picture of a spring Iris right here. I think it's amazing and one of her best photos ever.) That's when I decided to call it "Jennifer Alone in the Garden." Please go to the LISTEN page. Today I built the song from the Bm by adding some changes. It felt really good to strip this one down to just the piano and guitar. Love the overdrive guitar on top of the piano.

New song added today

Hi everyone,

I had a nice Sunday in the studio today and came up with a new instrumental I'm calling "Slather." Please go to the LISTEN page to hear it. I'm still very curious about 60 beats per minute. I, like so many, get much from this tempo and love working within its scope. I hope you enjoy this and please excuse my keyboard playing. I'm a guitarist.

Aloha!

A new chapter

Hello all. Well it seems that a new chapter is about to begin. It looks like I will be leaving the Acoustic Detour after nearly five years of playing with this great Camano Island group. I had some amazing times with the AD and will always look back at my time with them fondly. I've got hours upon hours of recorded material from just about every one of our shows over the years, thanks to bass player, sound tech and recording engineer extraordinaire Paul Tibert. I will treasure that collection and will return to it often.

But like I said, it's the start of a new chapter. I've been in Portland for two years now and finally feel ready to put myself back out there to see what I can help create in this great city. I've been playing and recording with a renewed passion and focus and am looking forward to the next project, whatever that may be.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks!
